About This Blog
I have always written online in one form or another over the past two decades. On forums and message boards (even bulletin boards at the tail end of the 90s). Written for fansites of videogames I liked, and argued in the comments. Made friends around the world in all these communities, and met hundreds more.
But I have never written for myself!
This website is supposed to change that. In what way, I really don’t know – yet!
We are going to have some form of blog going on, where I can share my thoughts and opinions with the world. But I also want the website to help with my professional career, so there will also be some information on my (professional) projects that showcase some of my skills.
Maybe someone will want to hire me, or wants me to consult on a project after reading.
Oh and also, we are going to talk about books. That much is sure!
Work With Me
I’m always looking for new impulses, new things to learn and new problems to solve. New challenges, new people, new experiences!
Always looking to become a better, more skilled and more capable human being. Both in my professional and my personal life.
If you think we should talk, then we absolutely should.
Hit me up on any of my linked media profiles or send an e-mail to mail (@) karsten stork (dot) com.
About Me
I grew up in the 90s in a rural part of Germany. Just a few dozen kilometers of nothingness separated me from the big city life of the so called “Ruhr Area”, the industrial heart of the country.
Moving there as soon as I was able to, I had to learn quite a lot of things really quick. When you grow up virtually isolated for 18 years, you lack an alarming amount of awareness and general understanding of the world.
That’s how my interest in social behavior got started – figuring out how to deal with people, making friends and connect with people in the rather cold big city.
It was never easy, but a lot of fun mostly. And those unavoidable setbacks were brutal but valuable lessons in self-sufficiency, resiliency and problem-solving.
Today those skills translated into a problem solver/superhero/project manager job at a small software company.
After years of translating my experiences and skills into actionable real-world guidance at my job and for close personal friends I began to wonder:
Why not share with the world? I’m certainly not making it any worse.
